When most people think of opportunities for careers in biotechnology, they think of a scientist in a white coat in a laboratory developing drugs to improve the quality of life. However, biotechnology has a wide variety of career opportunities ranging from sales and marketing, to research and development, to manufacturing and quality control and assurance.

Food Biotechnology has made a significant number of breakthroughs over the past century. As the consequences, the average life span of human being has substantially increased. The food biotechnology industry continues to flourish nationwide. Not only are the total number of biotechnology companies increasing, but employment in the biotechnology field continues to grow as well.

There are many opportunities for the employment in food biotechnology. The sandwich program between Assumption University and University of California at Davis would be an ideal program to provide candidate with a world class state of art education to prepare human resources for this dynamic industry.
