It is very honorable for the ambassador having an opportunity to serve Thailand on behalf of his respected country. The UAE and the Kingdom of Thailand have established their diplomatic relationships since 1975. First, the Embassy takes care of maintaining good relationships between both countries in terms of strengthening political relationships, enhancing trade and business connections, and supporting business people in Thailand.

With sizable economy, economic diplomacy, strong purchasing power, diversity and superior gateway position, the UAE has ranked the first place in multiple global rankings in terms of the availability and quality of air transport infrastructure, efficiency of government spending, quality of roads, effect of taxation on investment incentives, and government procurement of advanced technology products.

Major imports from the UAE to Thailand are oil, metal ores, natural gas, jewelry, vegetables, and fertilizer. Major exports from Thailand to the UAE include motor cars, parts and accessories, precious stones and jewelry, air conditioning machine, woods and wood products, machinery, rubber products, prepared or preserved seafood, and electrical equipment and parts.

The number of UAE tourists’ arrival in Thailand is one of the highest among all nationalities. Apart from the popular tourist sites, the main reason of traveling in Thailand is the medical treatment, known as medical tourism. At the same time, the UAE is also one of the most popular destinations for Thai tourists traveling to the Middle East region.

In the future, the UAE would like to be less dependent on oil and gas export. What make the UAE differ from other countries are the ease of doing business by 100% income and corporate tax exemptions, 100% foreign ownership, 100% exemption from import and export duties, world class infrastructure and logistics, easy funding from international banks, easy to access to knowledge/expertise & collaboration opportunities in specialized UAE free zones, and the best connectivity for all kinds of good and services.
