Assumption University collaborates with the University of California, Davis, for a unique PhD program in Food Biotechnology. Doctor of Philosophy in Biotechnology

 

Assumption University is collaborating with University of California at Davis to offer a PhD. Program in Food Biotechnology. This unique Doctor of Philosophy Degree program combines the faculties, the educational and research facilities and the high-tech equipment at the two campuses to create a program on the cutting edge of technology. The program is designed to provide students with marketable skills and qualifications for work in a high-tech industry, as well as the academic foundation.

Qualifications for Admission

  • Student must hold a Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree in Food Science, Biotechnology, Biological Science or related subjects.

  • Receive a CGPA of at least 3.0 for students holding a Master's degree.

  • Receive a CGPA of at least 3.5 for students holding a Bachelor's degree.

  • The Program Committee and the Dean of office of Graduate School may make exemptions of the above.

Entrance Requirements

  • A Complete application form.

  • Two copies of Transcripts of previous college and university work.

  • Four Photographs, 1-inch size.

  • Two copies of residence registration and identification card (for Thai Applicants), two copies of passport (for non-Thai Applicants)

  • Three original letters of recommendation from individuals qualified to comment on your potential for academic success in the doctoral program.

  • Statement of purpose indicating why you want to pursue your career in Food Biotechnology

Note : All documents must be endorsed with signature and submitted in person within the last day application period, otherwise the application will not be considered and the applicant will not be allowed to sit for the admission interview.

Exemption

The AU English Proficiency Test can be exempted depending on which of the following conditions you satisfy.

  • a TOEFL score of (iBT) 90 or (P) 575 or an IELTS (Academic) score of at least 6.5 (Validation: Two years)

  • a Bachelor's degree or a higher degree from native English speaking countries (e.g. USA, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand)
