The M.A. Philosophy and Religion program at AU is a 2-year master's program with thesis and non-thesis options. The program instills skills such as independent thinking, logical reasoning, and problem analysis, which prepare students for various fields.

Admission Requirements

  • Completed application form with 6 photos (1”x 1 ½”)

  • Three copies of Home-Registration (Thai) or Passport (International)

  • Three copies of official transcripts and three copies of the certificate of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of at least 2.5 on a scale of 4

  • Two letters of recommendation from two different people who can attest to their moral character and other trait

  • Take the AU-English Proficiency Test and the interview. The applicants who submitted the TOEFL (iBT) 90 or (P) 575 or IELTS 6.5 or those with the Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand are exempted from the AU English Proficiency Test.

Graduation Requirements

  • Have completed all the courses of the curriculum.

  • Have obtained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.

  • Have written a thesis and passed the final oral thesis defense evaluated by a committee appointed by the School. The final oral defense is open to the public./Have passed the oral and written comprehensive exam and have written a research paper and passed the final oral research paper defense evaluated by a committee appointed by the School. The final oral defense is open to the public (Plan B).

  • Have published the thesis/part of the thesis or have obtained an acceptance of its publication in a national or international journal in accordance with OHEC regulations on Criteria for the Selection of Academic Journals for Publishing Academic Works B.E. 2562 or have presented the thesis at a conference which has published the full paper in the proceedings./Have published the research paper/part of the research paper in any form (Plan B).

  • Have obtained library and financial clearance from the university.

  • Have demonstrated good conduct and discipline.
