The Master of Science in Business and Economics program at Assumption University offers both thesis and non-thesis options. The program provides rigorous training in economics and practical business applications, making graduates particularly attractive hires as analysts in business organizations and government agencies. Coursework is offered in both Chinese and English, with research and publication conducted in English. Master of Science in Business and Economics Overview of the Program

  • Graduates will receive Master of Science in Business and Economics from Assumption University.

  • Bilingual Education: Coursework is offered in Chinese and English parallelly so students can opt to study the coursework in their preferred languages; research and publication are conducted in English.

  • Preparing graduates who will receive rigorous training in economics and practical business applications.

  • Graduates will be particularly attractive hires as analysts in both business organizations and government agencies.

  • Graduates can effortlessly continue to the Ph.D. in Business and Economics program offered by Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics, Assumption University, if a further degree is desired.

Qualification for Admission

  1. Applicants should meet the credentials and submit the materials stipulated as follows when seeking admission into the Program.

  2. Bachelor’s degree from institutions accredited or acknowledged by the Thai Government

  3. GPA of at least 2 on a scale of 4.00 or equivalent for the bachelor’s degree

  4. TOEFL score of at least 530 PBT or 70 iBT, or IELTS score of at least 6.0, OR a passing score of the Assumption University English Proficiency Standard Test for Graduate Programs. IELTS and TOEFL scores only remain valid for two years. The score certificate must be valid at the point that one completes the submission of all necessary admission materials. The admission requirement is exempted for applicants whose bachelor’s or master’s degree is conferred by a higher education institution in the countries where the media of instruction is English.

Entrance Requirements

  1. A complete application form

  2. Official transcript from the previous university attended

  3. Bachelor's degree certificate 

  4. Citizen identification card and residence registration - for Thai applicants

  5. Passport - for non-Thai applicants 

  6. Three (1 x 1.5-inch size) photographs (formal attire, not in graduation gown)

  7. Resume 

 

Note : All documents must be endorsed with signature and submitted in person within the last day of application period, otherwise the application will not be considered and the applicant will not be allowed to sit for the Admission interview.

Exemption

The AU English Proficiency Test can be exempted depending on which of the following conditions you satisfy.

  1. a TOEFL score of at least (iBT) 90 or (PBT) 575 or an IELTS (Academic) score of at least 6.5 (Validation: Two years)

  2. a Bachelor's degree or a higher degree from native English speaking countries (e.g. USA, Canada, UK, and New Zealand)
