AU Showcases Cross-Cultural Creativity in “Creative Art and Design Practice” Exhibition

ree

The Master of Arts in Art and Design program at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) opened Creative Art and Design Practice: Drawing Connections”, a compelling exhibition blending Chinese artistic vision with Thai cultural inspiration. The showcase features works by 17 Chinese postgraduate students alongside pieces by their mentor, acclaimed artist Mr. Zhuangzi, and runs at the MSE Building, Suvarnabhumi Campus.

Exploring the theme of cross-cultural dialogue, the exhibition transforms pen-and-ink drawings into a visual language of cultural connection. Visitors encounter intricate portrayals of Buddhist temples, tropical flora, urban streetscapes, and local rituals—each offering personal reflections on life in Thailand through the eyes of international artists.

“This is not just an art exhibition, but a journey of cultural discovery,” said Dr. Gao Li, Assistant Vice President of AU. “It reflects how young artists from different backgrounds interpret and connect with Thai culture through their own lens.”

By merging traditional techniques with contemporary sensibilities, Creative Art and Design Practice demonstrates the power of art to bridge cultural divides and inspire dialogue across nations.
