Peking University and AU Jointly Launch the Arts and Technology Development Project

Peking University and Assumption University of Thailand (AU) officially launched the groundbreaking Arts and Technology Development Project with a grand signing ceremony at AU. The initiative, jointly spearheaded by the Institute for Cultural Industries at Peking University and AU, represents a bold new frontier of academic cooperation between China and Thailand.

The project will be carried out under the Peking University Education Foundation and is designed to foster interdisciplinary research and collaboration across key areas such as digital creativity, artificial intelligence applications, and rural sustainable development. Planned activities include :
Joint training programs, academic exchanges, and international workshops
Academic forums, cross-border exhibitions, and cultural exchange activities
Rural studies, innovative workshops, and summer schools under the support of the UNESCO Chair on Creativity and Sustainable Development in Rural Areas
These initiatives aim to advance rural creativity, encourage knowledge transfer, and strengthen industry–university partnerships.
During the ceremony, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Chanintorn Jittawiriyanukoon, Vice President for Research and Academic Services in charge of Research and Academic Services, emphasized that this collaboration provides a vital platform for global academic exchange while invigorating talent cultivation and scientific innovation.


The signing was further marked by a symbolic exchange of commemorative gifts between Prof. Xiang Yong, Professor of Peking University, and Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of AU, highlighting the warm friendship and shared vision of both institutions.
The establishment of the Arts and Technology Development Project is a new milestone in Sino–Thai higher education relations. It promises to deepen academic collaboration, expand interdisciplinary opportunities, and create innovative models for education and social impact in the digital era. Both universities affirmed their commitment to harnessing their strengths to contribute to regional development and to the broader global academic community.
