Assumption University Welcomes Delegation from the Diocese of Mangalore, India

Bangkok, Thailand — 18 August 2026 — Assumption University of Thailand welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Diocese of Mangalore, Karnataka, South India, as part of an academic and institutional visit aimed at exploring opportunities for future collaboration.
The delegation included Fr. Peter Mascarenhas, SMM, Superior of the Montfort Novitiate, Karnataka; Fr. Johnson Sequeira, Principal of Lourdes Central School, Bejai; and Rev. Fr. Alfred Vincent Sequeira, Assistant Director of the Diocesan Biblical, Catechetical and Liturgical Centre (DBCLC).
The distinguished guests were guest of Rev. Bro. Dr. Sirichai Fonseka. The delegation was also accompanied by Bro. Saard from the Thailand Province Headquarters.
During the visit, the delegation toured both the Hua Mak Campus and Suvarnabhumi Campus, gaining an overview of Assumption University’s academic environment, institutional structure, educational facilities, and campus infrastructure. The visit provided an opportunity for the delegates to learn more about the University’s approach to higher education and its development as an international Catholic university in Thailand.
A key focus of the visit was to explore potential areas of academic and institutional cooperation between Assumption University and educational institutions under the Diocese of Mangalore, India. Discussions included possibilities for future collaboration in education, student and faculty engagement, knowledge exchange, and other mutually beneficial academic initiatives.
The visit reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthening international academic partnerships, Catholic educational values, and opportunities for cross-cultural learning and collaboration.
Assumption University looks forward to building upon this initial engagement and exploring meaningful avenues of cooperation with the Diocese of Mangalore and its educational institutions in the future.
