Stay Wild, Moon Child: AU Glows with Mid-Autumn Spirit

ree

Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s Hua Mak Campus lit up under the glow of the full moon on October 6, 2025, as students gathered at St. Mary’s Square to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival. The evening, themed Stay Wild Moon Child blended tradition, community, and celebration with a distinctly youthful spirit.

The festival opened at twilight, with lanterns drifting skyward and casting a warm glow over the iconic towers and gardens of the Hua Mak campus. Students from across faculties came together to share in the cultural festivities, enjoying free food, drinks, and the sense of community that the event fostered.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, one of Asia’s most cherished seasonal celebrations, traditionally honors family unity, gratitude, and the harvest moon. At AU, the event also highlighted the institution’s commitment to cultural exchange and global friendship. Organized with the support of the Office of International Affairs, Confucius Institution of Assumption University, Thai-Chinese International College, and Office of  Graduate Studies, the festival invited all students to participate in a memorable night of shared traditions.

Events like these remind us that beyond academics, university life is about connection and community. The moon may be universal, but the way we celebrate it together makes this campus feel like home.

The evening concluded with laughter, music, and lanterns that symbolized hope, renewal, and aspirations carried into the night sky. For AU’s diverse student body, the festival was more than just a celebration—it was a reminder that traditions, old and new, shine brightest when share
